Boot Into Safe Mode

Published by admin at 12:41 am under Know Hows, Software

First of all, you might wonder “what is safe mode?” Microsoft’s Definition of Safe Mode is “In safe mode, you have access to only basic files and drivers (mouse, monitor, keyboard, mass storage, base video, default system services, and no network connections).” What is the point of Safe mode then? Well often your computer might get a virus or spyware that will not allow you to login to your system. You might have valuable information on it so you must get rid of the spyware or virus. To do so you would want to go into safe mode where the virus wont be running.

In Safe mode only a few things run to operate XP which is why you can log into it with a virus on your system. As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8. Follow that step to boot into safe mode. Once there you can run an array of malware cleaners to fix your system. You can also backup your valuable data.
