Evolution of Graphic Cards

Published by admin at 8:07 pm under Tech buzz

The evolution within video cards has been truly astonishing, using slots such as pci, to agp, to pci-express. Pci-express also denoted as PCIe is a point to point bus. The data transfer speeds of PCIe cards are relatively much faster to those of AGP. Many PCIe video cards can also link, for Nvidia such coupling is know as a SLI configuration, for ATI users, such coupling is known as Crossfire. When two cards are connected, both cards are working together rendering better FPS for various games. The idea behind SLI or Crossfire is that, when you want to update your graphics cards, rather than buying a whole new card, buy the same card that you have (which is cheaper now) and link it to your other card.
