Hybrid Drive

Published by admin at 11:56 pm under Tech buzz

Most of the tech community knows about flash memory, but a new introduction has been made the hybridizes flash memory and hard drives together.  Samsung has come out with one model, the flashon HM16HJI which features 256mb of flash ram. In a reliability test, hybrid hard drives theoretically outlast standard hard drives because hybrid hard drives would write files to the flash portion where as normal hard drives would be in a constant spinning motion. The only downfall for these new types of hard drives is that they only support Vista at the moment.
