One Laptop per Child

Published by admin at 9:10 pm under Tech buzz

The idea behind One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is truly altruistic, showing how people can help further  people in developing countries.  For about a $200 donation, an XO-1 will be donated to a child in a developing country. The specs are not to shabby for around $200, the laptop comes with 256 MB of RAM, 500-MHz processor, around 1GB of flash storage. These specs suffice for the children whom would receive them in the developing countries. Technology is vital for education, and to be exposed to such things by the donation of people is really good to see. These children would never be able to purchase one, let alone come across one if it isn’t for the people who donated them.
