Why Ubuntu is gaining popularity.
When Linux distros first came out, only the few well seasoned computer enthusiasts dared to try it, over time however Linux based distros like Ubuntu have become more and more mainstream, allowing the average computer user to be able to use Ubuntu without confusion (this was primarily achieved through a familiar GUI environment). As well, Ubuntu is completely free, unlike other operating systems like Vista and XP. As an addition of being free, Linux is not prone to virii since many virii are only able to attack registry keys which Linux does not have. Ubuntu surpasses many many other operating systems in terms of security and customizable features making Ubuntu an easy choice for many computer users.
